About the event

Pál Maléter, the defense minister of the 1956 revolution was arrested and then executed together with Imre Nagy. His widow, Judith Gyenes, documented the tragic events of her life, paired with heart-warming commentary about one of the brightest moments of Hungary's recent past during the 1956 Uprising. Her story-telling and history-telling can be understood more as a stream of emotions made up of subjective impressions and moods.

The monodrama tells the story of their love, their marriage, her husband’s involvement in the revolutionary events and his tragic journey to his execution. It is based on 15 hours of in-depth interviews and documents.

 The sole performer of the production is Zsófia Szamosi, the Jászai Mari Award-winning actress from the 2017 Oscar-winning film All and the Cannes award-winning film One Day.
